StandBy mode, which turns your iPhone into a smart display while it's charging horizontally with a wired or wireless connection, will come to compatible iPhones in iOS 17.

In StandBy mode, you'll be able to use customizable widgets to craft the display to your liking when your phone is docked and charging.

For wireless charging, the feature will require a MagSafe charging stand with a landscape mode to function, as well as a MagSafe-enabled iPhone (iPhone 12 series or later).

When picking an iPhone stand, you want to ensure that it is compatible with your devices and, if you want to use StandBy mode, that it offers MagSafe charging in landscape mode.
